About us
Founded in 1989, Pearl Engineering brings over 35 years of expertise in electric motor repair with a strong focus on quality, precision and timely service. We have built lasting trust with our customers through superior workmanship.
From a single workshop in Coimbatore we have grown into a vertically integrated facility. Machining, winding, impregnation, balancing and testing all happen under our own roof, on our own equipment, under our own quality control.
Our work is built to meet global industry standards. We support all major industrial sectors:
One of our founders is an ex-executive engineer of Kirloskar Electric Co Ltd, having a versatile experience of more than 10 years on the shop floor and on the field in design and servicing of all types of rotating electric machines.
Behind all of it are our engineers and technicians with decades of hands-on experience, which has led us to become a very sought after maintenance and reliability partner for our vast industrial clientele.

Machines we work with
All our services are done in house, enabling us to maintain the highest quality standards.

HT and LT machines across the full frame range.

HT and LT, including generator sets and captive units.

Single and dual speed WTG rewinding and overhaul.

Rewinding and reconditioning of magnetic coils and chucks.

Rewinding, bearing replacement and reassembly of servo drives.

Precision grinding spindles, water- and oil-cooled motors, high-speed compressor motors and other critical-duty machines.
Our services
Each of these done in house by our highly skilled and experienced engineers and technicians.

01
Complete rewinding of HT and LT stators, rotors and armatures. Wound to recorded data in the correct insulation class, then impregnated and cured before it leaves the floor.

02
Bar and end-ring repair or replacement on squirrel cage rotors, followed by testing to confirm the cage is electrically sound end to end.

03
New shafts turned in our own machine shop to drawing, or reverse engineered from the failed shaft where no drawing exists. Bearing housings and end shields reclaimed to correct fits.

04
Rotor balancing up to 3 tonnes on our own balancing machine, with a balance report supplied for every rotor.

05
Loop testing to find hot spots and inter-lamination faults, lamination repair, and full core restacking where the core is beyond recovery.

06
Vacuum pressure impregnation in our own VPI plant, followed by a controlled oven cure that turns the varnish into a hard, solid, protective mass.

07
Strip-down, cleaning, bearing replacement and reassembly to OEM clearances, with the machine run on no-load trial before dispatch.

08
Where a machine cannot travel, our engineers do. Bearing changes, diagnostics, in-situ inspection and technical support at your plant.

09
High pot and surge testing, insulation resistance and no-load trials, with a detailed test certificate handed over alongside the machine.

10
Complete machine failure analysis with a written root cause report your maintenance department can act on, so the next failure is prevented rather than repeated.
Why choose us
Not claims. The things we actually do differently, and what each one means for your plant.
01
Graded insulation systems, correct winding data and workmanship that is checked at every stage rather than only at the end.
02
An experienced team and in-house capacity across every process means less waiting between steps, and less downtime for you.
03
Every rewind we deliver carries an in-service warranty of up to one year, because we follow industry-standard procedures end to end.
04
Machining, rewinding, impregnation, balancing and testing all happen here. Nothing is subcontracted, so quality control stays with us.
05
Technicians and engineers with multiple decades of experience on HT and LT rotating machines.
06
Where a machine cannot travel, our engineers do. Bearing changes, diagnostics and failure investigation, at your plant.
07
Detailed reports on what failed and why, so your maintenance department can prevent the next failure instead of repeating it.
08
Documented, repeatable process at every stage, with test records handed over alongside the machine.
Our process
Every machine follows the same documented route. The status of each machine is continuously tracked and updated to the customer periodically.
01The machine is received, stripped and inspected to establish exactly what has failed.
02Shaft, housing and fit dimensions are measured and recorded before anything is reported or quoted.
03A written fault report goes to the customer along with a quotation for the work required.
04Worn housings are machined and reclaimed to correct bearing fits.
05Shafts are machined or replaced in our own machine shop, to drawing.
06The failed winding is stripped out in our winding removal machine, and ensured that no damage occurs to the core.
07The stator core is loop-tested for hot spots and inter-lamination faults.
08Where the core is beyond repair, laminations are restacked and re-tested.
09The machine is rewound to recorded data using dual coated enamelled copper wire of the correct insulation class.
10High pot and surge testing to meet our stringent QC standards.
11Vacuum pressure impregnation improves electrical, mechanical and thermal performance.
12Oven curing turns a soft wet varnish coat on motor windings into a hard, solid and protective mass.
13The rotor is balanced on our own machine so the rebuilt assembly runs true, with a balance report recorded.
14The machine is reassembled and run on no-load trial on our test bed.
15Detailed test reports are compiled and handed over with the machine.
16Final painting, protection and dispatch back to your plant.
Our facility
A vertically integrated workshop: the lifting, machining, impregnation and testing capacity to take a machine from strip-down to no-load trial without it ever leaving our floor.

Industries we serve
Continuous-process plants cannot wait. Most of our work is for industries where an hour of downtime costs more than the repair.
